Global Icons Signs Five Top UK Fashion Brands from JD Sports

LOS ANGELES – July 23, 2013 Global Icons, a premier brand licensing agency, announced today its representation agreement with JD Sports Fashion Group, a leader in the European fashion and sportswear industry.  Drawing upon many years of success in the UK and abroad, the agency will strategically focus on bringing select JD Sports brands to North America.

The Duffer of St. George is an iconic British heritage brand that began by selling vintage finds and redundant stock from Army & Navy stores across the UK.  Now seen as an influential name in men’s fashion and coveted by a high profile clientele of celebrities and artists, the Duffer lifestyle collection is sold in Europe and in standalone stores throughout Japan.

Brookhaven is a youthful, spirited brand built on friendships, fun and freedom of expression which is reflected through a laid back, upbeat style. Serving as an alternative to street inspired fashion for boys and girls – this casual, experimental, clean style is mixed with vintage inspirations and a nod to collegiate trends.

Mckenzie is an original UK leisure sportswear brand established in 1974. Street inspired and driven by the youth culture, this brand has a fashion edge, and a mix of bold graphics, branding and pop colors.

Carbrini, inspired by the success and profile of the European football teams, utilizes intelligent sports performance fabrics and technology for its sportswear collections as well as bold statement pieces influenced by current street fashion trends.

Cecil Gee, who was one of the UK’s most innovative men’s clothing specialists, started with his introduction of the “jacket–shirt” in the 1930s.  In the 1950s, he began importing Italian suits made from more lightweight, comfortable and versatile fabrics.  Influenced by Ivy League style, Cecil Gee creates a clean cut, simple, sophisticated look.
